Race Recap
admin

I just got back from crewing for Nathan Yanko at the Lake Sonoma 50 Mile, whew what a day!  Jonathan Olsen absolutely tore it up in the race today knocking nearly an hour off of the the top time from 2008.  Jon ran the LS50 in 7:30.58 followed by Nathan Yanko in 7:55.32 and Dan Barger in 8:00.34.  Dan Barger knocked 24 minutes off of his winning time from 2008.  On the Womens side Suzanna Bon ran exremely strong finishing first in 8:43.30 (7th overall).

Nathan said he’ll be adding a race recap here within the next couple days so be sure to come back and read it once it is posted, I’m sure it will be a great story.

My impression of LS50? Awesome race, great (hot) weather for the time of year, tough 50 mile course (nearly 11,000 ft of ascent and descent) with fantastic vistas, great aid stations, will grow to be very competitive, I want to add it to my race schedule next year.  A lot of runners mentioned it was a perfect early 50 mile tune-up for Western States.  Oh, and there were hunters out as boar hunting season is still going strong in the area for another week… makes the race all the more interesting!
